Return & Shipping Policy
Product Returns
Bushmaster® accepts returns on eligible products purchased directly through our website within 30 days of the delivery date. To qualify for a return, the item must be unopened, unused, and in its original packaging.
All returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee, and original shipping charges are non-refundable.
The product must be returned in its complete, unopened, original condition, including all original packaging materials such as boxes, inserts, protective coverings, and any external wrapping. All accompanying documentation, including user manuals, warranty cards, and instruction booklets, must be included with the return. Additionally, any accessories, components, attachments, or promotional items that were originally packaged with the product must be returned together.
The product must not exhibit any signs of installation, alteration, damage, wear, or use. This means the item should remain in the same condition as when it was received, free from scratches, marks, stains, or other indications that it has been handled beyond basic inspection. Any evidence of use, modification, or tampering may result in the denial of the return or a reduction in the refund amount. Products returned without all original materials or showing signs of use will be subject to evaluation and may incur additional fees or be rejected entirely.
Bushmaster® reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to issue store credit instead of a refund.
To initiate a return, customers must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number by contacting us at info@bushmaster.com. Returns sent without a valid RMA number will be refused upon delivery.
Returns vs. Warranty Claims
Refunds are issued for products returned within the specified return period (30 days from delivery), provided the items meet the condition requirements outlined in our policy. Returns are typically made when customers wish to receive a refund due to dissatisfaction, ordering errors, or other non-defect-related reasons.
Warranty claims apply when a product is found to be defective or malfunctioning due to manufacturing defects or workmanship issues covered under the product warranty. Unlike returns, warranty claims are not eligible for immediate refunds but may result in repair, replacement, or refund according to the warranty terms. All warranty claims require proof of purchase and require different processes than standard refund requests.
If your product is defective or fails after the return window has closed, please contact our customer service team to initiate a warranty claim. Refunds will not be issued for warranty claims unless the specific criteria for a refund are explicitly met. These terms are outlined within the terms of the Bushmaster® Limited Lifetime Warranty. All warranty claims are subject to evaluation, and any refund issued will depend on the warranty’s provisions and the determination made by Bushmaster Firearms®.
How to Request an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization)
To initiate a return or warranty claim, all customers must first obtain a valid RMA number. Please follow the steps below:
Step 1: Prepare Your Return Request
Before contacting us, make sure you have the following information ready:
- Full name
- Order number or proof of purchase
- Your Contact information (If being handled by an FFL, the FFL’s contact information will be required in addition to your own)
- Reason for return (e.g., wrong item, defective product, not satisfied)
- Condition of the item
- Serial number if part is serialized
- Photographs of the product deemed defective
Step 2: Contact Bushmaster Customer Service
Send your return request by email to: info@bushmaster.com
In your email, please include all the information listed in Step 1.
If you are requesting a return for a firearm, be sure to also attach a legible copy of your State ID or driver’s license.
If you are submitting a warranty claim to Bushmaster Firearms®, we will respond by sending you an RMA form to complete and return. Please include a detailed description of the issue prompting your warranty request. Providing thorough and comprehensive information will assist us in evaluating your claim accurately and determining the most appropriate resolution.
Step 3: Await RMA Number and Instructions
Once your request is reviewed, our team will respond via email with your unique RMA number, specific return shipping instructions, and any additional documentation required for your return.
Please allow up to 3 business days for your RMA request to be processed.
Step 4: Package and Ship Your Return
Clearly write the RMA number on the outside of the shipping box.
Use original packaging if possible, and include all parts, manuals, and accessories.
Include a printed copy of the RMA email and/or packing slip inside the box.
If you are returning a firearm, be sure to also include a clear copy of your State ID or Driver’s License, or alternatively, if your shipment is being handled by a licensed Federal Firearms Dealer, ensure that a copy of the dealer's FFL is included with the return.
A valid State ID or Driver’s License with your current physical address is required for all warranty RMA firearms. Identification listing PO Boxes will not be accepted.
The identification document presented by the customer must be valid (i.e., unexpired), government-issued, and intended for the purpose of identifying individuals. It must include the customer’s full legal name, current residential address, date of birth, and a photograph.
In the event that your government-issued identification does not display your current physical residential address, you are required to update your records with the appropriate issuing authority and submit the revised identification once reissued. Bushmaster Firearms® will not accept paper change of address documents. Approval to ship the item will not be granted until such documentation accurately reflects your current physical address.
All returns that do not include valid identification or the required Federal Firearms License (FFL) documentation are subject to refusal or the assessment of further restocking fees at the discretion of the company.
Ship to the return address provided in your RMA instructions.
Note: Returns without a visible RMA number may be refused upon delivery.
The customer is responsible for all return shipping expenses unless Bushmaster® confirms that the return is due to a defect or an error in order fulfillment. In such cases, Bushmaster® will issue a prepaid return shipping label. All returns require prior authorization through a valid Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Returns that are not authorized or that fail to follow the instructions provided with the RMA may be rejected and shipped back to the customer at their expense and risk.
Step 5: Track Your Return and Await Processing
We recommend using a trackable and insured shipping method. Once we receive your return, please allow 2 to 3 business days for processing of your return shipment. Refunds or replacements will be issued according to your request and product availability.
Refunds will not be issued until the product has arrived and your return has been inspected and processed.
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used at the time of purchase.
Once processed by Bushmaster®, it may take an additional 3 to 10 business days for the refund to appear on your account, depending on your bank or credit card provider's processing times. Please note that while we issue refunds promptly, your financial institution controls the final posting timeline.
Product Exchanges
Exchanges may be permitted on an individual basis and are entirely at the discretion of Bushmaster Firearms®. Each exchange request will be reviewed separately, and approval is not guaranteed. All exchange requests must be made within 5 business days of receipt of delivery. Customers must obtain prior authorization from Bushmaster® before returning any items for exchange. Unless otherwise stated by Bushmaster Firearms®, customers are responsible for all shipping costs associated with exchanges. Store credit may be issued upon receipt and processing of the returned item for exchange purposes. This credit facilitates the purchase of the replacement item and enables accurate tracking of payment, inventory, and associated shipping costs related to the exchange transaction. In such cases, the customer may be responsible for placing a separate order using the issued store credit through our website.
Non-Returnable Items
The following products are final sale and are not eligible for return, refund, or exchange under any circumstances:
- Gift cards
- Blemished/Snake Pit Items
- Discontinued Items
- Personalized, customized, or custom-ordered items that are made to the customer’s specifications or special requests
- Items that have been installed, used, blemished, or heavily handled after purchase
- Any products that have been altered or modified after purchase
Please review your order carefully before completing your purchase. If you have any questions regarding these items, contact Bushmaster® customer service prior to placing your order.
Website Purchased Firearm Returns
Firearms purchased through the Bushmaster® website and transferred via a local Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) are eligible for return only under the following conditions:
- You have been issued an RMA approval with an accompanying valid RMA number.
- The firearm must be in brand-new, unfired condition.
- Your valid RMA number must be clearly written on the exterior of the shipping box.
- The transferring FFL will handle the return shipment on the customer’s behalf. A copy of their FFL must be included in the return package.
Failure to meet any of the above requirements may result in refusal or denial of the return.
Legal Compliance for Firearm Returns
Returns of firearms are subject to strict adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. It is the customer’s sole responsibility to ensure that any firearm returned to Bushmaster® complies fully with these legal requirements. This includes, but is not limited to, proper transfer procedures, required documentation, and any restrictions on shipping or possession.
Bushmaster® strictly reserves the right to refuse or reject any firearm shipment that does not meet the standards set forth by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) or other relevant regulatory authorities. Any return that violates these regulations, lacks proper authorization, or is incomplete in terms of required documentation will be denied.
Customers must be aware that failure to comply with applicable laws during the return process can result in legal consequences.
Additionally, all firearms returned must be shipped through approved channels in accordance with federal and state laws. Any deviations from these procedures may cause the return to be refused or delayed.
Shipping Carrier Policies for Firearms Shipments
Please be advised that all shipments containing firearms are subject to the policies and regulations of the shipping carriers used. Customers are responsible for understanding and complying with these carrier-specific requirements, which may include restrictions on shipping locations, signature requirements, packaging standards, and handling procedures.
Bushmaster® is not liable for any delays, refusals, or additional charges imposed by shipping companies due to non-compliance with their firearm shipping policies. We strongly recommend that customers review and adhere to the policies of the selected carrier to ensure smooth and lawful delivery of their firearms return.
Under no circumstances should firearms be shipped using the United States Postal Service (USPS). Federal regulations strictly prohibit the mailing of firearms through USPS by non-licensed individuals. Any firearm shipments must be made through approved carriers in accordance with all applicable laws and carrier policies. Use of USPS for firearm returns or transfers will result in immediate refusal of the shipment and may lead to legal consequences.
Defective Product Returns
We stand behind the quality of our products. If you receive a defective item, Bushmaster Firearms® will accept the return for either a replacement or a refund, provided the return is initiated within 30 days from the date of delivery. If the 30-day return period has passed, the customer must initiate a warranty claim in accordance with the Bushmaster® Limited Lifetime Warranty policy.
The defective item must be returned with a valid RMA number.
After 90 days, if the item was not manufactured by Bushmaster Firearms®, customers must work directly with the original manufacturer for warranty, service, or replacement.
International Sales Return Policy
Products sold by Bushmaster Firearms® to customers outside of the United States are not eligible for returns, refunds, or warranty claims. Due to variations in international laws, shipping restrictions, and service limitations, Bushmaster® does not provide return or warranty services for any products purchased internationally. Customers outside the United States assume full responsibility for compliance with their local laws and regulations, as well as for any product servicing or support through local channels.
Blemished Items & Snake Pit Products
Blemished products, including those in the Snake Pit collection, are sold at a discount due to minor cosmetic imperfections.
These products are designated and sold as blemished items, and may exhibit minor cosmetic imperfections, including but not limited to surface blemishes, finish irregularities, and/or color variations. These imperfections are cosmetic in nature only and do not affect the product’s structural integrity, functionality, or safety.
Blemished products may also have been previously used for promotional, display, or demonstration purposes. Such prior use does not affect performance standards but may contribute to minor aesthetic wear.
All blemished products are sold as-is and are considered final sale. By completing your purchase, you acknowledge and accept that:
- Cosmetic flaws and any prior limited use do not constitute defects under applicable warranty or return policies.
- Blemished items are not eligible for return, refund, or exchange for any reason related to cosmetic condition or prior use;
- Blemished products are excluded from all promotional pricing, discounts, coupon codes, and other special offers, without exception.
If you have any questions or require clarification regarding a blemished item, please contact Bushmaster Firearms customer service prior to completing your purchase.
Shipping Damage Policy
All shipments are carefully inspected and packaged to ensure they leave our facility in good condition. However, if your order arrives damaged, it is important to report the issue as soon as possible so we can assist in resolving it promptly.
Reporting Damaged Shipments
If your order arrives with visible damage to the packaging or product, please do the following:
- Do not discard the packaging or contents.
- Take clear photos of the packaging, shipping label, and damaged items.
- Contact Bushmaster Firearms® within 3 business days of delivery to report the damage and submit supporting photos.
Failure to report shipping damage within the specified time frame may affect our ability to file a claim with the carrier and provide a resolution.
Shipping Damage Resolution
Once we receive the required documentation, we will initiate a damage claim with the shipping carrier on your behalf. If the claim is approved, Bushmaster Firearms® will provide a replacement for the damaged item(s) at no additional cost, subject to inventory availability.
Note: This does not apply to items sold in blemished or non-standard conditions.
We do not issue refunds or store credit for damaged shipments. Replacements are the sole remedy provided for damage incurred during transit, and only after claim approval by the carrier.
Bushmaster Firearms® is not responsible for damage caused by mishandling after delivery or for damage resulting from improper storage or use by the recipient.
Lost or Undelivered Packages
In the event a package is lost, misdelivered, or marked as delivered but not received, please contact us as soon as possible so we can initiate an investigation with the shipping carrier. Bushmaster Firearms® will work directly with the carrier to file a claim on the customer’s behalf when applicable.
Please note that claim processing timelines are determined by the carrier and may vary depending on the circumstances of the loss. Claims may require a written statement from the customer and/or confirmation from the carrier regarding the delivery status. We will keep the customer informed throughout the claims process and make every reasonable effort to resolve the issue in a timely manner.
Bushmaster Firearms® is not responsible for packages lost due to incorrect shipping information provided by the customer or for losses resulting from unauthorized package acceptance at the delivery address. Risk of loss passes to the customer upon delivery to the carrier, but we will assist in facilitating claims to the best of our ability.
If a package is lost, misdelivered, or marked as delivered but not received, customers must notify us as soon as possible so we can initiate an investigation with the shipping carrier. Bushmaster Firearms® will file a claim with the carrier on the customer’s behalf when appropriate.
Please note that claims are subject to the carrier’s investigation process and may take 7–30 business days or longer to resolve. During this time, we will keep the customer informed with updates as they become available.
Lost or Undelivered Package Reimbursement Policy
Bushmaster Firearms® does not offer refunds or store credit for lost packages. However, if a claim is approved by the carrier and reimbursement is issued, we will reship the original items to the customer at no additional cost, subject to inventory availability.
We are not responsible for packages lost due to incorrect or incomplete shipping information provided by the customer, or for packages accepted by unauthorized individuals at the delivery address. Reshipments will only be processed after confirmation of claim approval by the carrier.
Legacy Product Warranty Policy
Bushmaster Firearms® was acquired by its current ownership in October 2020. As such, we do not provide warranty coverage for any products manufactured prior to this date under previous ownership.
While we are not responsible for the manufacturing, materials, or workmanship of firearms produced before October 2020, we remain committed to supporting the Bushmaster® community. To that end, we will make reasonable efforts to service and repair legacy firearms when possible. Such services will be performed at the lowest feasible cost to the customer, subject to the availability of parts and the nature of the required service.
All service requests for legacy products will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Please contact our Customer Service Department for a consultation and estimate.
Policy Changes
Bushmaster® reserves the right to modify, amend, or update this return policy at any time without prior notice. Continued use of our services or purchase of products after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
