Bushmaster Firearms® Recognizes Landmark Legal Victory with Limited Commemorative Dick Heller Rifle
WINDHAM, Maine – In recognition of the historic
Heller decision affirming our Second Amendment rights, Bushmaster
Firearms International, LLC, (BFI) is proud to announce a limited
edition, Dick Heller Commemorative rifle based on the Bushmaster
O.R.C.® (Optics Ready Carbine) semi-auto, modular platform in
5.56mm/223 Remington. Bushmaster will make a donation to the Bill of
Rights Foundation with the sale of each rifle. Production of the
Dick Heller Commemorative O.R.C. will be limited to 1000 numbered
rifles.
In celebration of our constitutional right “to keep and bear arms”
and Mr. Heller’s historic victory, this limited edition rifle is
laser engraved on the right hand side of the magazine well with the
Second Amendment, a waving American flag, “District of Columbia v.
Heller, 554 US 290”, the case decision date of June 26, 2008, and
the numbering 1 of 1,000. A facsimile of Mr. Heller’s signature
graces the lower receiver.
John DeSantis, President and General Manager of Bushmaster Firearms,
presented one of the limited edition rifles to Mr. Heller at the
recent NRA Convention, held in Phoenix, Arizona. DeSantis commented
as he made the presentation, “Mr. Heller, it is truly an honor on
behalf of the entire Bushmaster family of employees and all firearms
owners to present you with this tribute rifle; recognizing your
unwavering pursuit to protect our Second Amendment rights.” Dane
vonBreichenruchardt, President of the Bill of Rights Foundation,
joined Mr. Heller and Mr. DeSantis for the presentation.
With a suggested retail price of $1695, this all-purpose,
gas-operated carbine’s standard features include 16-inch M4-style
chrome-moly vanadium steel barrel, chrome-lined in both bore and
chamber; durable, corrosion-proof forged aluminum upper and lower
receivers; synthetic A2 pistol grip and adjustable, six-position
Telestock; “Birdcage” suppressor; and receiver-length Picatinny
rail. Additional features on the Heller Commemorative version
include clamp-on front and rear flip sights; free-float Quad Rail
handguard; and nine rail covers.
