Bushmaster Wins Law Enforcement Contract to Supply Tennessee Highway Patrol

Bushmaster Firearms announces that it has been awarded a contract from the Department of Public Safety for the State of Tennessee to produce 1,000 Bushmaster 16” Barreled Carbines with A2 fixed sights. In August 2003, Bushmaster, along with two other firearms manufacturers, attended a pre-bid conference that was held to determine the product qualifications. On the basis of price and product quality, the contract was awarded to Bushmaster on October 11, 2003 with the provision that the rifles were to be delivered within 60 days. As of November 10, 2003, all 1,000 Carbines – along with an allotment of spare support parts – had been delivered to the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Bushmaster's Director of Law Enforcement and Government Sales, Israel M. Anzaldua stated “Our job is not over yet. We will be training the Tennessee Highway Patrol Staff on the Bushmaster Carbine with a Three Day Armorerʼs Course and Maintenance Program, and In-the-Field Inspections will be on-going every 6 months by our service contractor, Craig's Firearm Supply of Knoxville, Tennessee.”
