I want to replace the stock with one that truly functions. The large nut on the recoil spring tube at the back of the receiver, is that staked on ?? How difficult is that to remove?? Please advise, thank you. Bobhttp://www.bushmaster.com/faqs/?f=2573Fri, 09 Jul 2010 00:00:00 GMTFAQ # 2506 : I just purchased an AR15 sling end plate for my Post Ban M4 style rifle. The lock nut on the buttstock will not budge at all. I am using an AIM AR 15 combo wrench and almost stripped the notches in the nut. Any suggestions? Being that it is a Post Ban, is it meant for only a gunsmith to change out the stock so as not to put an illegal stock on it? Please advise.http://www.bushmaster.com/faqs/?f=2506Sat, 05 Jun 2010 00:00:00 GMTFAQ # 2478 : I'm havine trouble with my M17S bullpup double or tripple firing. I'll get 3 or 4 normal semi auto shots and then the weapon will cycle 2 or 3 times I purchased it new just after they were discontinued, but it has only been fired twice, all total it has less than 100 rounds through it. It displayed this problem the first time I fired it. I tried several different brands of new factory ammo. I also loaded rounds one at a time and fire 30 or 40 round through it that way incase it needed to be broken in but the problem persisted. I thoroughly cleaned and oiled and tried it again, but still have the same problem. I was thinking the sear might not be catching the bolt, but I don;t see any where on either (wouldn't expect to given how little use its seen) Any suggestions on where to start trouble shooting it?http://www.bushmaster.com/faqs/?f=2478Mon, 24 May 2010 00:00:00 GMTFAQ # 2462 : I have a friend that has a Carbon 15, I believe it is one of the Type 97's that was made before Bushmaster took over production when they were made by Professional Ordinance. I am considering purchasing it from him and I was wondering if you still have parts for this model and if needed if you still provide service for this model if the need would arise? I also have a Bushmaster XM-15 I purchased new in 1999 and I think it is an awesome firearm, no complaints about it at all. Thanks http://www.bushmaster.com/faqs/?f=2462Wed, 12 May 2010 00:00:00 GMTFAQ # 2455 : I have a CMP XM15-E2S and want to change the barrel, the FSB does not appear to be pinned on, is there a procedure for removing the front sight base? Or are the pins the just under the finish?http://www.bushmaster.com/faqs/?f=2455Mon, 10 May 2010 00:00:00 GMTFAQ # 2387 : bought bushmaster 2 stage comp trigger group, installed in panther lower, installed fine but can not get second stage release once set stop screw just past release, run second stop in to get 1st stage, try to set for second stage no release, adjusted many times, any tips on getting 2 stage? works great as 1 stage trigger but have same trigger on my bushmaster dcm rifle so i know how it should feel, can not get same result?http://www.bushmaster.com/faqs/?f=2387Fri, 09 Apr 2010 00:00:00 GMTFAQ # 2361 : I have purchased the 450 Bushmaster Upper. From another FAQ it was mentioned that the Daniel Defense Free Float rails would fit. However, the 450 Bushmaster barrell nut is for a screw on free float rail and is different than the AR15 barrel nut that are used with a Delta Ring. How does the 450 Bushmaster Free Float Barrel nut come off?http://www.bushmaster.com/faqs/?f=2361Wed, 31 Mar 2010 00:00:00 GMTFAQ # 2353 : I intend to order a telestock (1005-087-8988-PK) for my Bushmaster XM15-E2S. Will the TeleStock Wrench for new style (ribbed) TeleStocks (223-TELEWRENCH2) fit both the original (old) lock nut for removal and the new telestock lock nut? Also, does the Telestock Wrench have a screwdriver on the end for removal of the existing fixed stock screws? Can't tell from the picture. Thanks. http://www.bushmaster.com/faqs/?f=2353Sat, 27 Mar 2010 00:00:00 GMTFAQ # 2240 : Are there any negatives to building an AR-15 as opposed to buying a complete rifle? I have seen in other FAQ's where you refer to a home-built gun as a parts gun in other FAQ's. Is that a negative when it comes to future value or desirability. Does the prospective used gun buyer value the bushmaster parts gun less than the factory-built bushmaster? In addition, I don't see much of a monetary gain by buying the parts and assembling the gun as described in Ron Wu's "A PROSPECTIVE AR-15 OWNER/BUILDER'S PRIMER". I can't see the cost savings now that may have existed when he wrote the article in 1997. For example, $370 (Lower Receiver Assembly with Adj Stock, Pistol Grip, and internals) + $695 (16" Carbine M4 Upper - A3) = $1065. A Complete AR-15 A3 M4 Type Carbine is $1270 (savings of $205 but you still have to buy a case, mag, and sling). Am I missing something here?http://www.bushmaster.com/faqs/?f=2240Tue, 16 Feb 2010 00:00:00 GMTFAQ # 2216 : What grain bullet is the best to start with? The instructions don't mention how to remove the factory gas tube. How do I accomplish this task?http://www.bushmaster.com/faqs/?f=1381Wed, 25 Mar 2009 00:00:00 GMTFAQ # 1127 : How do I go about replacing the gas-seals in the bolt?http://www.bushmaster.com/faqs/?f=1127Mon, 09 Feb 2009 00:00:00 GMTFAQ # 1122 : Hi, I am attempting to remove my 6 position collapsible stock from my bushmaster ORC in order to install a GG&G ambidextrous sling swivel (GG&G 1072A). I am having difficulty removing the telestocking locking nut with a short spanner wrench. I do not want to break anything and I read in my GG&G instructions that some locking nuts are pinned? Is the telestock locking nut on this rifle pinned? Thanks, http://www.bushmaster.com/faqs/?f=1122Sun, 08 Feb 2009 00:00:00 GMTFAQ # 1088 : Is there a potential 'gas tube fouling' problem as I use the newer Wolf boxer primed ammo as plinking range ammo? It seems to be no more dirty than more expensive brands, but it feels a bit less powerful a load than factory Black Hills ammo of the same bullet weight. I hope I didn't miss this on your web site's Q&A page.http://www.bushmaster.com/faqs/?f=1088Sun, 01 Feb 2009 00:00:00 GMTFAQ # 970 : Please help me understand. I am NOT an expert, you have them there, but I'm confused about a technical point in the gas piston conversion. I don't seem to be able to grasp how the Spigot Spring handles the impact loading of the operating rod during counter recoil and keeps the loading off the roll pin. It seems that any counter force from the Sigot would be exerted on the roll pin anyway unless the pin is sheared since the spring is in front of the Spigot in the gas block. If I'm not missing something important,(which I probably am), it seems the only way the spring would be effective is if it was attached between the Gas Piston Housing and the Spigot to absorb the counter force at that point. Once again, I'm not trying to be a smart a**, I just am missing how it is effective and would like to understand. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.http://www.bushmaster.com/faqs/?f=970Mon, 05 Jan 2009 00:00:00 GMTFAQ # 969 : Installing gas piston conversion kits, I noticed that the operating rod reciever bushing did not seat properly with just pressing it in. I found that after assuring allignment using the operating rod and pressing it as far as I could with my finger, I remove the operating rod and place a soft wooden dow(Pine) against the end of the bushing, tapping it lightly to seat it in place. This method seems to work well. Thankshttp://www.bushmaster.com/faqs/?f=969Mon, 05 Jan 2009 00:00:00 GMTFAQ # 968 : I have installed two Bushmaster Gas Piston Conversion kits so far. They work Great. I have used Loctite "Blue" on the screw for the gas piston housing/barrel clamp to help gauard against "shooting loose". Since I tend to want to "overtighten" screws, damaging them, I like to use a firearms accurizing torque wrench, (FAT). What would you recommend as a good foot pounds setting for that screw? (I was considering 30lbs with the use of loctite "blue" as a failsafe.)
