FAQ ID # 2573 - I recently picked up a Model XM15-E2S Serial #L087398 which is assume was made during AWB period of 94-04 as it has the fake, non moving collapsible stock. I want to replace the stock with one that truly functions. The large nut on the recoil spring tube at the back of the receiver, is that staked on ?? How difficult is that to remove?? Please advise, thank you. Bob

Answer / Solution

The nut is not staked on and will come off with an AR15 tele stock wrench.
