I have a Bushmaster M17S Bullpup AR15 type rifle. Is any of your Muzzle Brakes/Flash Hider fit on the barrel of rifle without any modification?

I own a Clinton ban era Bushmaster XM15 - m4 carbine. The rifle came from the factory with a mini Y compensator muzzle brake. I tried to remove the mini Y and replace it with a regular M4A1 style birdcage flash suppressor. I observed as a military armorer assisted in removing the mini Y with an M4 / AR armorers wrench, and it was very difficult to remove. Once the mini Y was removed we observed that roughly the last 3/4" length of the barrel was unthreaded while there was about 1/2" of threaded length just behind the unthreaded portion. Further inspection of the mini Y revealed that the threading inside the compensator was completely ruined. It appeared that there had been no grease or lubricant applied to the threads prior to installing the mini Y. As a result the birdcage suppressor will not fit over the end of the barrel properly in order to thread it onto the barrel. My question is were these barrels supposed to be unthreaded, did I possibly strip all of the threading off of the barrel so that appears smooth, or was this ban era weapon produced in such a way that the mini Y was not meant to be removed? If indeed I ruined the end of my barrel is there anyway that I can have it repaired, or use a different birdcage style flash hider, or will I need to order a new barrel? Thanks for any advice you can offer.

I have a Bushmaster Modular Carbine with fluted barrell. I live in MA and it does not have a muzzle brake. Is it possible to install a muzzle break on the barrell? Which model would you recommend? Are there any negatives to doing this?

My 30th anniversary carbine comes with a ak-47 muzzle brake on it. Can I improve on that with one of the other muzzle brakes you offer.would the Y comp part # YHM-258 in either the short or the long version be a better brake. I saw in one of your FAQ you mention a Crown COMP muzzle brake as being the best... but I dont see that as a option to purchase????
