is the process of milling 6 lengthwise grooves into the barrel’s surface to increase cooling
capability by increasing the barrel’s surface area. Depending upon barrel length, fluting increases surface area by as much as 180% - and can reduce barrel weight by as much as 20%. Because of the extensive machining involved, order fulfillment on fluted barrels can take longer. |
