How Accurate is Your Bushmaster?

Below are some targets sent to us by Bushmaster shooters:

Peter Card - Bushmaster Employee
Pete fired this great group with one of the new BA50s – 3 rounds 100 yds – one ragged hole.

Bob Judson
This target was sent in by Bob Judson - and was witnessed and signed by his Bushmaster Dealer - Bill Bash - of Royal Ridge Shooters Supply in Brunswick Hills, Ohio. Bob writes (in the sticky note on the target) that he used his Bushmaster DCM with a .22 LR Conversion Kit at 50 ft. He didn't say how many shots were in this group but other targets he sent (just as good!) were 5 shot groupings.

Tony Hughes
Here are a couple targets from a shooter named Tony Hughes, who writes:

“Well, I ordered your Varminter Upper and took it to the range today. I shot the best group of my life – 1\4th  of an inch. You have done an awesome job with the AR-15. The rifle I purchased first was your XM15-E2S Shorty. Then I purchased the Stainless Varminter Upper – making my AR more versatile. I have e-mailed you a copy of the group. It says a lot more than I can. Thanks for a great rifle.

Thanks again, Tony Hughes "

Richard Ostrow
A long-time Bushmaster Fan named Richard Ostrow got creative with his Bushmaster, and shot the “Happy Face Target” below. Richard was using his Bushmaster V-Match 24” Bbl. rifle with 62 Grain Lead Core SS109 Ammo and a Harris BiPod. Richard is such a fan of the Bushmaster that he later E-mailed us about having commissioned a solid gold Bushmaster Tie Pin. It was a thing of beauty!

Joseph Miles
Here’s a note and target picture from a sharp shooting college graduate:

Dear Bushmaster,
I received the Varmint Special Rifle for my college graduation, and I was surprised to say the least. What surprised me further was the accuracy of the rifle.  I have included a picture of my sight in at 100 yards. Thank you for making a great product!
Joseph Miles

Joe was shooting a 24” Varmint Special with Sierra 69 Grain Boat Tail Hollow Point Match King Bullets. Joe – if you “aced” your exams like you did this target, you’ll do fine!

David Ledger
A Bushmaster shooter way out in the Pacific – Guam to be exact – named David Ledger sends in this note…

Thanks – here are the pictures of groups I shot with my Varminter. The two groupings and scattered rounds to the right were scope zeroing. The three round circled pattern to the left and the circled single round were after dialing the Leatherman (Scope) in, the fifth round is low and left in the "8" ring - oops.  Location:  Guam, USA.  Temp: approx. 88 degrees  Wind:  right to left across target approx. 5-10 mph.  Position: prone with Harris bi-pod.  Rounds: Winchester  .223   Range: 200 yds.
Posting the target pic is fine, my son will get a "blast" out it. He shoots a pretty tight pattern with his .17 HMR and can handle, with some difficulty, our other Bushmaster, a 16" with adj. stock.

Best regards,
David Ledger

Dan Myers
Dan Myers – in Nebraska – emailed:

Here is the target we talked about yesterday. My Bushmaster is model PCWA3S20, serial #L314090, 20" barrel, 1:9 twist. It was about a year old when I shot this target on Jan. 5th 2005. I estimate at that time I had approx. 8,000 rounds through the barrel. It was a five shot group measured with a calipers minus .224 result .372" – a little less than 3/8" inch group. Shot from a bench with a scope, Hornady 75 Grain BTHP Match, Varget Powder 23.7 Grains, Remington 7 1/2 BR primer, COAL 2.25. I started competing in NRA high power matches here in Nebraska last summer and started reloading late in the summer. I really like my rifle and buy all my parts and accessories from you guys. Thanks for making such a fine rifle.
